By popular demand, the "Kelly/Scott Quintet" return again to play for the wonderful jazz enthusiasts of The More Jazz Society in, The Villages, FL. The group again features an outstanding line-up of jazz all-stars, vocalist Lisa Kelly, trumpeter JB Scott, Dave Steinmeyer, pianist/bassist Jeff Phillips and drummer Eddie Metz, Jr, all internationally traveled musicians of high caliber and recognition.

Co-leading the group is 5-time Downbeat Magazine award winning vocalist and composer Lisa Kelly, inductee into the 2013 "Jacksonville Jazz Festival Hall of Fame," who is considered by many to be one of the best big band singers in the country but is equally at home in an intimate small group setting. Ms. Kelly’s singing style reflects influences from the classic jazz vocals of Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Carmen McCrae to the modern stylists Diana Krall and Dianne Reeves. She is well known for her solid sense of swing feel, impeccable phrasing, a horn-like approach to scatting and her rich, intimate vocal timbre.

Her co-leader, trumpeter JB Scott, is an associate professor of music at the University of North Florida, directing the acclaimed UNF Jazz Ensemble I and teaching jazz trumpet & other music related courses. His hard swinging and lyrical lines carry on the tradition of Louis Armstrong, Ruby Braff, Freddie Hubbard, Clark Terry, Dizzy Gillespie and Arturo Sandoval. His broad versatility of style comes from years of experience performing in big bands and Miami Latin bands, touring with the Barnum & Bailey Circus, to three years fronting the world famous Dukes of Dixieland. Kelly & Scott have each been profiled in the book, "The New Face of Jazz."

Legendary trombonist and former leader of the legendary Airmen of Note, DAVE STEINMEYER is one of the most regarded trombonists in the world today. Featured on numerous recordings and on the movie, The Glenn Miller Story, Dave is truly a musical treasure! JEFF PHILLIPS is highly recognized for his expansive repertoire, Oscar Peterson/Art Tatum/ Bill Evans influences and incredible ability to play piano, bass pedals and guitar in a solid, tasteful, authentic swing pocket, often heard with vocalist Lisa Kelly, Bill Allred's Classic Jazz and the Midiri Bros. Truly a drummer's drummer, EDDIE METZ, JR has played with literally everyone in the business today. From a family of esteemed musicians, he continues to tour the world in notable small groups and big bands and has been featured on numerous recordings.

All of the groups artists have appeared on national and international jazz festivals throughout Europe, Canada, the U.S, the Orient, and beyond, appearing with other notables too numerous to mention. But in between performances, they each find time to teach and mentor young jazz musicians to carry on the musical tradition. Each artist has released personal CD projects and been featured on numerous others.

The Quintet will feature music that is energetic, sensitive, and fun, songs from the Great American Songbook to traditional

songs of the trumpet masters, with a forte in swing!
