The Museum of Science & History is proud to partner with the Jacksonville Chapter of the American Institute of Architects to present a journey through the past 100 years of architecture in Jacksonville. "Jacksonville by Design: AIA Celebrates 100 Years of Architecture" illustrates how the city rose from the ashes of the Great Fire and transformed into the beautiful and vibrant city we call home today. From the Great Depression and World Wars to Mid-Century Development and Suburban Expansion, Jacksonville’s architecture has been shaped by historic events and people. The resulting architecture has shaped our city and built environment. Understanding these influences will enhance the appreciation of our rich architectural heritage and serve to guide the future of our great city. "Jacksonville by Design" is on display in The Loft Gallery on the third floor.
