ATLANTA’S RADIO BIRDS TAKE OVER BURRO BAR

Posted:

Peace, love and rock-’n’-roll Americana has taken on a strange metamorphosis since bushy-bearded younglings developed a taste for Daddy’s semi-hollows and early pioneer garb (lookin’ at you, Urban Outfitters). Despite having some of those elements, there’s a simple, unpretentious charm to the bluesy Americana electric guitar slide, stomp-your-heel rhythms and straightforward lyrical approach of the Atlanta-based Radio Birds. Their latest single, “Ease My Mind,” is a two-minute scorcher that sounds like it came straight from the Delta, with sizzling brass slide, cranked-to-11 reverb, and pounding, pummeling drums.
